Remix MK / The Many ReMixes Of.... International ReMix Competitions
(www.themanymoodsof.com) [need to register to see hidden forum] - On a budget
of zero £, Meechy has guided this remixer's online focal
point into becoming
an ongoing international series of remix competitions, with members from every
corner of the globe and world respected
musos as judges. First designed to help
gain awareness of the UK singer/songwriter Nicky Prince's new album www.NickyPrince.co.uk,
The Many Moods Of....., it has now become a self-perpetuating forum and organisational
model where unsigned artists can submit their
material to be offered for
remixing
by an global producer community.Soon to become Remix MK, part of a growing
network of geographical-locality-focussed visual
and audio art remixing organisations
already including www.RemixReading.org , Remix Brighton and others. Based around
the new Creative
Commons licensing initiatives www.creativecommons.org
M-O-N-O www.m-o-n-o.net - Meechy is the co-creator/promoter (alongside Mike
Christensen) of M-O-N-O (Music Of New Origin) the banner
under which most of
my music-related exploits occur. Created to both put on live music events (with
no stylistic bias), as well as help out
unsigned bands and producers whenever
possible, M-O-N-O has gone from strength to strength since the beginning of
2005. The live music
incarnation of TpoR(d) , "Reece (unleashed)" was promoted under the M-O-N-O banner,
as is the new night "Your Hi-Fi"
Reginald A. Malby & Co. (www.Malby.info) - Meechy is from a long line
of creatives;- his Great Grandfather, Reginald A. Malby, was the leading
horticultural photographer of the Victorian and Georgian Era, with his company
Reginald A. Malby & Co., based in London. They were Official Photographers
for The Royal Horticultural Society (www.rhs.org.uk) between 1910-1940, and
won many top distinctions in Photography and Horticulture, including: The
Veitch Memorial Medal (1941), The RHS' Gold Grenfell Medal (1926) and The
RHS Medal, 1915. Reginald was also the youngest person to be made a Fellow
of The Royal Photographic Society www.rps.org . He published many books and
his work was used as illustrations for horticultural books right up to the
1970s. Meechy recently took on the task to re-awaken interest and commercial
potential in his Great Grandfather's life's work, and has already got a range
of calenders, jigsaws and diaries coming out under the Malby brand in top
retailers including Woolworths, Tesco and W.H.Smith for 2006. All of this
historic horticultural photography can be previewed at (www.Malby.info) as
well as detailed historical information about Malby.
