Well, small furry types, I worked me last day at the Welsh Initiative for Supported Employment yesterday. Cleared me desk, handed over me key (so no easy internet access for me: I'm typing this in the library).

So that's six years worth of work I said bye bye to. They very kindly brought forward one of their patented interminable team meetings and used it to present me with my leaving pressie (an Alan Moore comic I'd requested) and the obligatory amusing card knocked together on Photoshop. I felt quite grey afterwards, didn't quite know how to feel.

After work we went to Pizza Express and then to the pub. They're a sweet bunch and I'm gonna miss 'em.

Tonight I'm going to Vikki's party which has a doctors and nurses (and other carers of Vikki) theme. Hattie has loaned me a little blue dress and an upside down watch. Must admit I've been having fun accessorising Very Happy

Tomorrow Hattie is making a meal in my honour.

It's nice to be so well looked after.

And I had my meeting with my ex on Monday (the divorce actually finalised last week - talk about a period of closures!) and it went really well (well, much better than expected anyway), so that's all good.

Everything has a slightly surreal tinge to it at the moment. No sneaking into work to use the computers any more - bizarre!

But the sun is shining and the sky is blue. One last session of sorting through my stuff to see what gets to go in the car. A few more trips to the dump. A few more nights of disturbed sleep through being excited/scared/weirded out.

I'll grab access to the internet when I can get it. And of course I'll be arriving at Newbold next Friday and delivering Jen to Cluny College on the Saturday. Will she want me to walk her in through the school gates or will she insist that I park down the road and let her walk in on her own?

I'll let you know Smile

But I'm glad I've got a friend to arrive at Newbold with.

I'm very excited for you Ian. New beginnings are great things. I'm sure you'll be sorely missed at your old place but it's ...Half a league, half a league, Half a league onward, All in the valley of...oops wrong quote.

I hope you've got a notebook handy to mark down all your progress and you'll keep us posted. You did well getting your divorce sorted and closing that chapter too.

All the very best

I quite envy you Ian. You've managed to close a few chapters in a good way and at the same time. It says something about you that a lot of people wanted to do something for you as you move on.

I can't really tell you just how much I truly hope that the next part of your journey is as fruitful as possible. Best wishes, fella.

Tee hee...I think I'll need a little metaphorical hand-holding. Nerve-wracking but trying to embrace the experience. I'm sure you'll be fine. Yep, it's very brave to up and change your life so dramatically. It's an adventure for sure.

I've actually got around to putting the pics on me laptop and then onto me flash drive but I went and left that in the caravan and I'm suffering from some serious energy inertia at the mo.

So soon, my pretties. Soon.

In twenty minutes I'm off to Cluny College to find out how Jen has coped with her first full day on Experience Week.

For myself, I'm doing okay. I'm kind of spaced and tired and just taking my time settling in. Feels like it's been such a saga getting to this point. And the computer here doesn't seem to want to let me play Scrabulous, either!

Teething problems, that's all it is.

And I'm not used to not being able to blithely surf the net when I'm supposed to be working either.
