Cheers guys Smile . And yes, Wendy, that sounds great. So who's having responsibility for setting up the page?

I've been fiddling with the drawing of the folded paper that I mentioned above, mainly because I wanted to include some symbols. I like the idea of trying to illustrate each others work, despite my lack of ability. I think that an image size of 400 pixels wide would be a possible limit.

Oddly enough, I have a picture or two of a swollen river which I might get to post in a day or two if I can keep my head in the digital darkroom...

Sorry 'bout the double post - I nominate Ole Farmer Crookes. And I shall now run away and hide behind this picture of Johnny Dipp, he wouldn't dare go near that!!

Quote:

The creature woke to the sound of a human voice raised in panic. It crawled sleepily out of the shallow burrow it had been sleeping in.

“If this is not amusing someone will suffer for it.”

The creature stopped, perplexed at the site before it. The man from the night before was there. He was noticeably shaken and looking around for something. No not something, someone. The creature concentrated, felt into the mind of the man.

His state made his mind easier to access but the panic he felt made it a mess. The creature was momentarily overwhelmed by the sounds and images that pervaded its mind. A cat winked at him followed by the opening of a box and rain, it felt rain driving hard into its face, its human shaped face. Then it saw the woman and it screeched. Quickly it dived into the woods before the man could see what made the noise.

Settling down onto a low branch it tried to regain its composure. This was not part of the plan.

“You're early.” The creature jumped and almost lost it's balance, gripping it's talons tighter into the wood to keep from falling. It hadn't even heard her arrive.

His companion frowned as she took note of it's appearance. It's eyes were wide – too wide – and it's usually sleek fur was spiked out. It was too dark as well. The usual sandy colour was gone. “Was that you?” it hissed at her irritably.

“I have no idea what you're referring to.”

The creature stared at her for a moment, then apparently convinced by her response, settled into a more comfortable position. “Very well,” it purred “let me show you.”

Its companion looked at the creature intently and then she gasped.

"Now what do we do about it?"

Blah.
Had to edit it a bit.
I didn't proof read it well enough.

Just butting in to say that I'll do something with the page layout as soon as I can. It wouldn't be a web page though as I haven't got a clue but it would work as an e-book or something (pdf).

We should definitely do something with it though. If anyone's done any images - send them to me .

Should this be a collaboration in that we ask each other about plot direction etc or should we carry on as we have been; which is working well?

I think we should just carry on although it might be a good idea to have a reference thread as well to keep people roughly on the same track as far as what characters look like and such, just to make sure we don't contradict each other and if people have something they really want to come back to they can add a "please don't blah blah blah for a few sections. I have something planned" bit, but otherwise just carry on as we each see fit.

I must say I'm very impressed with your directorial skills Wendy - I predict that you will go far.

How do you see the illustrations fitting in with this and do you think a multi page pdf would work or do you prefer a continuous page?

Really? Thank you. Very Happy

The multi page sounds good to me. It would probably be more helpful with people coming in late and not having the time to read it all in one go or if someone wants to check a certain section for something.

I was thinking we could have an image at the start of each section to start with but then it might kind of spoil it if for example you see a picture of a cat getting out of a box before the box is even opened, so maybe having them at the bottom of each one would be best.

Well if we're going for multi page than I could have a go.
I was thinking they could be anywhere on the page. Asap I'll try and get a dummy page made up. What about size / proportion Wendy?

Do we have a title yet?

That works. As long as it doesn't show something unexpected before it happens or put a pause in a weird place we could have it wherever it looks best.

Entirely up to you. I'm horrible with layouts. Razz

The original was just called The Watcher. I don't know if anyone else can come up with something better for us to use.

Let's use The Watcher as a working title. We can always reconsider if we ever reach a conclusion.
